Sarah
Family Support Manager / Social Worker
Hi, my name is Sarah. I am a Family Support Coach for Kids Uncomplicated. I am a registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers, and I graduated with my Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria. I have always had a strong passion for family support work, creating community connections and helping others. I have a diverse background working with families, children, seniors, Indigenous peoples and at-risk populations throughout Alberta and British Columbia. I value working from a strengths-based and trauma-informed framework to provide the best possible care. My role as Family Support Coach is to provide advocacy and resources and to create and support trusting, meaningful connections. I am excited to be part of the KU team to enhance my skills and to work with families of the Calgary and greater area community. Outside of KU, I work as a Recreation Coordinator for seniors with dementia and volunteer for a family-serving agency. I love to travel and have been fortunate enough to explore numerous places around the globe, including having lived in Australia. My interests include anything outdoors, cooking, music, and spending time with family, friends and my dogs!

Sarah
Family Support Coach
Hi there, My name is Sarah and I am a Family Support Coach at Kids Uncomplicated.
I was originally born and raised in Calgary but have spent the last eight years on Vancouver Island, and moved back to Calgary in the summer of 2022. Within my role at Kids Uncomplicated, I am there to assist families with making their day to day lives easier. Whether that be find resources for the kiddo, finding respite care, advocacy and ensuring everyone is getting the most out of our program. I have been working with children for approximately a decade with a majority of my experience working in an out of school care setting. I love working with children because, every day is different, and watching them grow up and learn skills for their own independence is wonderful. When it comes to working at Kids Uncomplicated, I want to ensure everyone within the family is heard and getting their needs met. I also want to ensure that the kiddo is getting the most out of their time with us since we are only with families for a short period of time. In my free time I enjoy being creative, I love doing photography, or creating something with my hands. I also enjoy being in nature. Whether it be paddle boarding, camping, walking with my dog, I want to enjoy the fresh air. On Sunday’s though, you will find me in front of the TV watching football.

Jade
Child Development Coach
“Mommy!” Mom cries after hearing her daughter call for her for the first time.
This is one of the many reasons why I love what I do at Kids Uncomplicated! I get to connect with families, play with kids, and at the same time impact lives in small and big changes. From encouraging a child to play with new peers, to helping parents feel confident with calming their child, and motivating kiddos to develop independence and skills in hygiene routines. My role as a Child Development Coach, Team Lead and instructor for Nonviolent Crisis Intervention gives me the opportunity to collaborate with an amazing team and to connect with families on a personal level. I am grateful to have an active role in contributing to one of KU’s visions, “to connect a billion lives to quality services.” I know that no single approach is the right one for every family and individual, and so I have been trained in a range of modalities and continue to learn each day. I believe that challenges make life interesting, but overcoming those challenges makes life meaningful.
I grew up in Canada and had a chance to travel and live abroad. I have a family of four beautiful, strong-minded, and high-energy children who keep me young at heart. In my spare time, I stay active by training in different forms of martial arts. In my spare, spare time I like to explore Alberta’s great outdoors.
